Grub Street Food Festival

October 17, 2010

Keeping up with my efforts to fill my fall clothes, I made my way over the Grub Street Food Festival (usual home of the Hester Street Fair) to sample some local deliciousness.  As expected, the place was bonkers and packed to the gills.  Initially in my sights was Luke’s Lobster, but when you make what’s arguably one of New York’s best lobster rolls, a 30 minute wait is no surprise.  Not to fret, I made some passes and checked out the rest of the menu.  In the end, it came down to catching up with old friends, and an incredible piece of pistachio baklava from Melt Bakery paired with a perfect cup of pour-over coffee from Kickstand.  If you didn’t get a chance to hit up Grub Street, check the Hester Street Fair site for the line-up and go enjoy some local flavor.
