J. Panther Luggage Co.

September 17, 2010

Soon to hit he luggage circuit is J. Panther Luggage Co. J. Panther Luggage Co. is brought to you by the former menswear designer at Burberry and is slotted to hit shelves early next year.  Judging by what I’ve seen and read so far, they’re hitting all the right notes with a line strong and attractive enough to be carried for the next 50 years.  Production for this classic line of carryalls is all done stateside, with leather sourced from the Chicago powerhouse that is Horween Leather Co., along with canvas imported from the same place in Scotland that supplies the U.K. military.  Keep your eyes peeled for these guys come 2011.

I’ve said it time and again, if you make a well designed, durable, and aesthetically pleasing product then pair it up with a good story that was used as inspiration, I’m typically sold.  The Aviator bag is just this.  The Aviator is named after the artisan and New England pilot who makes it, and is inspired from WWII Swiss & German military map case found in Osaka.

This bag is absolutely perfect. I like the tan leather just as much as the canvas. We have been working on bag designs and I can honestly say I haven’t come up with anything close. Great find. Really works with what we are trying to do….
