Partners & Spade

Partners & Spade

I popped into the new-ish Partners & Spade shop the other day after hearing a lot of good things, and was pleased to find that it lived up to all the hype.  The space was very simple and clean on a modest street in Noho, where the current exhibit by artist Gordon Hull was coming to a close.  As expected, there was some quality pieces from years previous, as well as some of the artist’s original works.  I was a sucker for several old globes that were on hand, as well as some kick-ass model ships.

As much as I’m into the idea of the concept behind shops of this nature as well as a majority of the goods found within, I’m often discouraged by the seemingly Manhattan markup that too often accompanies these places.  My personal b.s. aside, much of the goods found at Partners & Spade are moderately priced, and are guaranteed to have their own story.  Where else can you find a ‘Back Dated Confidence Trophy’ or box of personal WWII era love letters?

The byproduct of Andy Spade and Anthony Sperduti, Partners & Spade is designed to bring about a new experience with each visit, thanks to revolving product listings and artist collaborations.  This isn’t your typical pop-up, and you definitely won’t find the typical goods inside.
