The Fall Classic

October 26, 2009

Whitty Ford

Tomorrow night marks the beginning of the The Fall Classic, and the Yankees 40th series debut.  Although I admit, I’m not really a fan of either team this year, I do have a soft spot for this American pastime, and am excited to be in New York.

If you’ve read this site, and  hadn’t already guessed by the continual abundance of historical content I post, I’m into stuff that’s been around for a while, and baseball clearly falls in this category.  Naturally, every city and every team has some historical integrity, but only some have such figures as The Babe, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, Joey D., The Mick, Lou Gehrig, just to name a few.   Regardless of the team, location or even player,  there has always been something exclusive about being a Yankee…

Which ever team you cheer, what ever city you’re from, love it or hate it, in celebration of this year’s Fall Classic I’m posting up some of my favorite guys from one of America’s greatest sports, who just so happen to be Yankees, who just so happen to be in the World Series this year…for the 40th time.

Had to post this picture of the manager, Joe McCarthy, mostly because of how amazing his jacket is.
